Immigration Law

In March of 2013 the Georgia General Assembly amended the 2011 sweeping immigration law. Some significant changes included:

  • Stricter security and immigration compliance
  • Imposes tougher penalties on undocumented immigration
  • Heightened identification requirements

Under the new law improperly documented immigrants can be prevented from securing an adult education, driver’s license, grants, public housing, retirement and other listed federal, state and local benefits.
